Russia-Estonia links discussed

Estonia close to agreement with FSVT on connections

Published: 1/17/2000

A delegation from the FSVT, which is currently on a visit to Tallinn, has said that the agreement on an air connection between Russia and Estonia is likely to be signed in the first half of 2000. A draft of the agreement will shortly be discussed at one of the working sessions of the Russian government. Estonia also intends to sign an agreement to join the European Common Aviation Area (ECAA), so making individual agreements with EU member states unnecessary. Currently, Estonian Air and ELK Lennuliinid each make three weekly flights on the route Tallinn – Moscow. Five weekly flights are made by ELK Airlines to St Petersburg.
