Volga Dnepr stake for sale

8% of Volga Dnepr up for sale and VD most likely buyer

According to a report in Kommersant, Volga Dnepr (VD) is planning to buy out Ukrainian shareholder, Fund of State Property, which holds 8% of the carrier"s stock, although no price has been mentioned. The Ukrainian government has decided that the size of the holding offered it little influence over the company and decided to make the disposal. This would leave the company with three Ukrainian shareholders, one of whom, Antonov, was reported to be interested in buying Aviastar"s 34% stake last year. Its efforts were thwarted by VD, which bought the holding from the plane manufacturer through an insurance subsidiary for an undisclosed sum, including the purchase of an An-124-100 from the plant.
