Mi-8AMTSh tests begin

The official testing of the Mi-8AMTSh has begun

According to a spokesman from the Ulan-Uden helicopter manufacturing plant (U-UAZ), the official state testing of the new military transport helicopter Mi-8AMTSh has begun. The helicopter has undergone the first flight within test conditions. The testing is scheduled for completion by mid-2000. The new model of the helicopter is equipped with a set of high-precision armament, Shturm-V, employing Ataka missiles. The helicopter has the capability to destroy both moving and stationary targets and to perform other complex military tasks.
