Yak-40 crashes after taking off from Moscow airport

Nine reported to have died on Lukoil chartered aircraft

A Yak-40 on charter to Russian oil company Lukoil has crashed today, 9th March, at Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport en route for Kiev in the Ukraine.
According to early reports, all nine people on board died, when the aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff. The airport has been closed.
The Yak-40 in executive configuration has become increasing popular among Russia's business community along with similar conversions to the Tu-134, and it is assumed that this aircraft was an executive aircraft.
