Moscow-Gaza connection made

RusAvia and Palestinian Airlines agreement in force

An agreement, reached in November 1999, between Palestinian Airways and RusAvia is now in operation, providing twice weekly flights from Vnukovo airport to Gaza, for goods and passengers, including the many Palestinian students studying at Russian universities. The flights are currently being undertaken by RusAvia's Tu-154s, but there is provision under the agreement for Palestinian Airlines to use its Boeing 727's on the route. According to Boris Likhachev, General Director of RusAvia, the airline is now considering opening additional new routes, including Taiwan.
