Domodedovo beefs up its maintenance and repair facilities

On 26th June, East Line Group and Yugoslavian construction company, Sivas, signed a contract worth $6m to conduct the first stage of the development of the Aviation Technical Base (ATB) at Domodedovo Airport. According to Vladimir Prokopchuk, the managing director of ATB, the work that starts at the beginning of July 2000 will not disrupt the servicing of aircraft. East Line plans to complete the project by the end of 2001 at a cost of $20m. Sivas is already working at Domodedovo finishing the new $25m airport terminal.
According to Sergey Roudakov, the director of Domodedovo Airport Complex, the Russian aviation authorities have recently granted licences to Domodedovo Airport to service Boeing-747, Boeing-767, Boeing-777, and DC-8, which has made the airport, desperate to attract new airlines with it new facilities, more attractive for those airlines with these types in their fleet.
