KrasAir's new training centre

In-house training for flight and ground crews

KrasAir has announced the opening a new flight-training centre in Krasnoyarsk for the training of flight crew and cabin personnel, as well as ground maintenance crews. Historically, according to the airline, it has contracted out the training function to a Novsibirsk-based institution among others, but decided that the institutions were becoming too expensive and failing to meet the airline's specific needs for refresher and safety training. The decision was then made in May of 1999 to set up the new centre. With the new facility, KrasAir plans not only to train its own personnel, but to also develop the training facility as a service for other operators, although to date it has received no enquiries to attend what KrasAir believes is the best facility of its type in Siberia and the Far East.
