Altai plans flight to Iraq

Mixing relief with business (110 words)

As part of the onging relationship between Barnaul and Iraq, Altai Airlines, which also operates the airport, is planning a humanitarian flight between Barnaul-Baghdad on the 29th of October. The flight is organized by the Russian Committee of Solidarity with Iraqi people, and sponsored by Rostek-Altai and Altai Airlines. The flight will take humanitarian aid along with representatives of “large companies” according to Altai Airlines to establish business contacts in the country. The airline has already conducted negotiations with the Iraqi Minister of Transport and Communications Ahmed Murtal Ahmed involving the reconstruction of the civil aviation infrastructure, namely the operation of Baghdad Airport, power station and railway equipment
