Angara Airlines created by the Irkutsk Aircraft Repair Factory 403 has recently started servicing a route form Irkutsk to Kirensk using an An-24 .
For the Head of the Kirensk administration Albina Ratova, the link is a vital connection for Kirensk particularly in winter an. Although Baikal and Dauria, according to Ratova, serves the city there are insufficient flights and the competition for passengers could prevent further price rises ansd improve the quality of service, which she regards as low. Angara obviously with Mr Ratova in mind served breakfast, drinks and newspapers on the first flight carrying 16 passengers.
Formed to exploit the lack of air transport to inaccessible towns, Angara has recently established scheduled services to Bodaibo and Mama and plan on to start flying to Yerbogachen, Mirniy, and Olekminsk.
