A-310 problems delay Mongolian flight

Flight limitations in Europe bite for small fleets (97 words)

Published: 4/10/2001

The Mongolian national carrier MIAT recently did little to enhance its image with passengers when 150 passengers arrived at the Ulan-Bator airport on the 1st of April in the expectation of catching a flight via Moscow to Berlin on MIAT's A-310. They were informed however, that the flight was delayed for three days because of problems with the aircraft's fuel system and that the airline's 2 Boeing 727s used for other international flights were unable to fly into JAR airspace. The recent delay is reported to come on the back of other problems using the A-310 for MIAT.
