Speaking at the Adam Smith transport conference in Moscow, Peter Titus, Country Manager (Russia/CIS) at Bovis Lend Lease International Limited, elaborated on the company's role in the development of Aeroflot's new $300m Terminal 3 at Sheremetyevo Airport.
Titus confirmed that Bovis would be responsible for the management of the entire project on behalf of Aeroflot, through to completion by the end of 2003. He also stated that US investment bank, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, would be responsible for raising capital for the venture.
According to Titus, Bovis will appoint a general design team by July 2001, to complete the concept design and a site preparation contractor will be chosen by the end of June. A design-build contractor will also be in place by October 2001, in addition to other specialist suppliers for installations such as baggage handling and flight information systems.
In 1996, Bovis managed the construction of Domodedovo Airport's cargo facility in Moscow.
