Volga Dnepr affiliate adds flights

Demand prompts expansion (104 words)

Published: 6/26/2001

The passenger affiliate of Volga Dnepr (VD), Passazhirskiye Perevozki (Passenger Transportation), is expanding its passenger routes. On 18th June, the airline commenced two additional flights on Mondays and Wednesdays to Moscow's Vnukovo Airport, in addition to its daily service to Moscow. In May 2001, the airline also commenced services to Vnukovo-Gelendjik (daily) and Vnukovo-Nikolayev (Ukraine). According to Vladimir Gortikov, General Director of the airline, the decision to increase the number of flights was prompted by market demand and the welcome prospect of related profitability. Passenger Transportation's fleet of four upgraded Yak-40s includes one aircraft for VIP use.
