Progress completing three Mi-34s for Nigeria

Delayed 1999 contract is revived and the plant could benefit from additional orders (104 words)

Published: 10/24/2001

According to Arsenyev-based Progress, it is currently in the process of completing the assembly of three Mi-34s that, after flight tests, will be delivered to Moscow for onward delivery by Mi-Light Helicopters (LVM) to Nigeria. Nigeria is currently operating two such aircraft and, according to reports, three additional Mi-34s are currently awaiting export in Moscow under the same contract. This would imply an expansion of the original Nigerian contract for six aircraft in 1999, but subsequently delayed, and Progress claims it could see further interest.
