Ka-226 close to completion
|
MCHs order progresses, even if slightly behind schedule, with delivery expected in early 2002 (138 words)
Published:
12/3/2001
The completion is expected imminently of the first serially produced Ka-226 in ambulance configuration for the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MCHs), with flight tests to follow during December for delivery in the New Year.
The second serial Ka-226, in a rescue configuration for the MChS, is also reported to be nearing completion, with five more helicopters for MChS in the assembly hall. After the completion of the MCHs order, the plant will start producing the order for the first batch of 22 helicopters, out of 50 Ka-226s for Gazpromavia announced in October.
The MCHs order, that has financed the helicopter's development, appears to be slightly behind schedule, as earlier reports suggested the delivery of two-three helicopters to MCHs by the year end.
