Tor-M1 missile system exports to Greece on schedule for mid August delivery

Russia"s contract to export 21 Tor-M1 anti-aircraft missile systems Tor-M1 to Greece is on schedule. At the recent airshow in Le Bourget, France, Mr Boris Nesterov, Director of the Kupol electrical engineering plant, told ITAR-TASS that, under the terms of the contract, Russia will deliver the first missile battery in mid-August 1999, complete with four missile trucks and several auxiliary trucks
The Tor-M1 systems will be shipped as three batches, the last of which will be delivered 15 months after the first advance payment. With payment having been remitted in May 1999, the contract, worth $526m, should be completed in late August 2000.
The Tor-M1 anti-aircraft systems will be shipped to Greece by An-124 Ruslan planes in three flights. Russia"s contractor is the Antey concern, a maker of Tor-M1s, with which the Kupol plant is affiliated.
