Farmer ultralight continues to sell

Published: 2/25/2000

MiG's Voronin Production Centre is continuing production of the Avitika-890, after producing 354 of the single and two seat ultra light biplanes, 290 of which have been exported to 20 countries. In 2000, according to Deputy General Director, Oleg Chukantsev, the company plans to produce 50 $40,000 aircraft, of which 16 will be agricultural version: the 'Farmer'. The agricultural market is seen as a key growth area, with estimated demand of 1200 units in Russia alone. This figure still falls below the factory's previously stated target of 100 aircraft a year.
