Military base turns civilian

New international airport for Sevastopol

Belbek, the former military aerodrome of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, which is located near Sevastopol, is to be rebuilt as an international airport, called Sevastopol, to provide both passenger and cargo services. The project is being developed by the state institute, Ukraeroproyekt, to include a 3,000m runway, capable of handling all aircraft types.
