Stoy-P system gets orders from Russian MoD

Published: 4/28/2000

The Kyshtym Radio Plant in the Urals has won a Russian Ministry of Defence contract for the production of Stoy-P aerial reconnaissance systems. The system based around the Pchela-1T drone, involved the supply of ten drones and associated vehicles. According to the General Designer of the plant, Yury Yankevch, the drones will be produced by the Yakolev, which joins the Smolensk aviation plant, which recently produced 50 vehicles. Kyshtym is currently considering modernizing the Pchela-1T in an effort to improve its capability and reduce its costs, which constitute about 35% of the system"s total cost of $5m.
