Poland"s second largest airport expands

New facilities due to open at the end of 2001

Work started in early April on the development of the passenger terminal at Cracow"s Balice Airport.
The $9m expansion, should, according to reports, be completed at the end of 2001 and allow the airport to handle passengers from two aircraft of 737 and 767 capacity simultaneously. The expansion will add 5,000 square metres to the floor area of the terminal arrival facility and will involve the complete overhaul of departures.
Cracow the second largest airport in Poland after Warsaw"s Okecie Airport handled 420,000 passengers last year and has connections with a number of Western European cities as well as Chicago, New York, Toronto and Tel Aviv.
