Iranian Mi-171s delivered by end of May

Additional orders expected

According to reports in Iran and Russia, Ulan Ude will complete the delivery of five Mi-171 transport helicopters, the export version of the Mi-8AMT, by May 2000, following the first deliveries in January of this year. The order for the Iranian Navy was first signed in November 1998 and according to reports , requires full delivery of the order before payment will be made. The delivery is slightly behind schedule having been originally timed for the end of the first quarter of 2000. The plant expects additional orders for a further 20 aircraft.
