Ilyushin hopes for exports of Il-114-100s to south-east Asia

The Ilyushin Aviation Complex has signed a contract for the export of three Il-114-100 planes to a leasing company of south-east Asian countries, a spokesman for the company has told Itar-Tass. However, commercial details of the contract have not been divulged and it is unclear whether this is a definite sale or just a letter of intent. The Russians have been actively marketing the plane in south-east Asia before its promotion at the Asian Aerospace 2000 international air show, at which the Il-114-100 was the only Russian plane on display.
