Delta and Air France in cooperation

Delta and Air France have begun to code share on flights to Kiev in the Ukraine as part of their cooperation under their partnership Global Alliance. The five weekly round trip flights from Paris will use an Air France Boeing 737 from Charles De Gaulle International Airport in the city. The cooperation between the airlines marks a further development of what is a hectic series of deals for the newest of the airline alliances. Besides attracting Aeroflot in the last few months, the alliance is currently courting CSA, which according to Dan Plovajko, its external affairs director, is in the process of deciding on its partner and is due to announce its allegiance in the next few months after several months of discussion. Currently the only other suitor in the frame is reported to be the Wing alliance led by KLM. The recent breakup between KLM and the Wing alliance over the speed of Aletalia's privatisation however, suggests that the marriage with Global Alliance may be imminent, with consummation due, according to Plovajko, next summer.
