AirZena"s new aircraft

Third Boeing 737 for the airline

Published: 6/30/2000

As expected, AirZena Georgian Airlines has taken delivery of its third Boeing 737-500 from Germany"s Hapag-Lloyd under a five-year lease at a cost to the Georgian carrier of $215,000 a months for the 112-seat aircraft. The new aircraft is in service on the twice-weekly service between Tblisi and Amsterdam and joins two other 737-500s in service with the airline, which was formed out of the bankrupt state carrier Air Georgia and two independent Georgian airlines at the end of 1999, with the state taking a 20% stake. The new Boeing, the first of which was delivered in January, is the only recent additions to the airline"s fleet
