TAT and Aviakor yet to come to agreement over aircraft deliveries (200 words)

Hearings to deal with the dispute between Tyumenaviatrans and Samara based Aviakor, were delayed again on the 17th October 2000, when the Samara Arbitrage Court postponed the hearing giving TAT more time to review documentation for Aviakor disputing their claim for aircraft.
According to Irina Shapovalova, the spokesman for Aviakor, at the hearing on the 24th September Aviakor contested one of Tyumenaviatrans' (TAT) aircraft claims, saying that the delivery of the aircraft with overhauled engines as opposed to new engines amounted to the same thing, as the quality and condition of the engines was as if they were new. According to Shapovalova this particular claim for $2m is the core of TAT's claim against Aviakor, as the much of the balance of the claim for $39 m is made up of fines and penalties.
If the court decides against TAT, at the next hearing on the 25th October 2000, according to Aviakor, TAT will have to reduce their demands substantially.
