Astrakhan negotiates 737 leases

Thai to take wet leased An-24s (106 words)

The president of Thai Airways Bhisit Kuslasayanon visited Astrakhan on the 14th of April to discuss the possible lease of two Boeing 737-400s to Astrakhan Airlines. Astrakhan Airlines is reported by the local media to be considering leasing the two aircraft for an extended period allowing it to upgrade its fleet and open new routes. The aircraft's improved reliability according to the airline will allow them to compete with other carriers servicing Astrakhan. According to reports Astrakhan Airlines will wet lease Thai Airways two An-24s, which are currently being overhauled in Rostov, to operate routes within Thailand and to destinations in Cambodia and Burma (Myanmar).
