Russia pays off Czech debt

Agreement involves the supply of new and upgraded helicopters (91 words)

Russia is to supply six Mi-35Ms to the Czech Republic by means of debt payment.
The agreement was made during a recent by Russian Premier Mikhail Kasyanov to Prague and will reportedly involve both the supply of new helicopters and the upgrade of the remaining 20 Mi-24s understood to be operational with the Czech armed forces to Mi-35M standard.
The new helicopters will be equipped with French avionics, according to reports, and will meet NATO standards.
