Victims' families take airline to court

The families say that the proposed $2,000 compensation following the Tu-154M crash is not enough (105 words)

Published: 11/16/2001

Families of the victims of the crash in July of a Vladivostok Avia Tu-154M have gone to court seeking an increase in the proposed settlement from $2,000 to $20,000. Vladivostok Avia says that 38 families have already accepted the payout and that others are in the process of doing so. Seven families were, however, not satisfied with the $2,000 offered and took legal action demanding $20,000 for each family plus additional compensation for the loss of breadwinners and for belongings lost in the crash.
