On the 30th October 2000 Polyot received an award in Geneva from Business Initiative
Directions (BID), a Madrid based international quality consultancy.
The award, the International Gold Star for Quality was awarded according to
the President of BID, Jose Prieto, reflected Polyot's " significant contribution
to the business world and its high standing and professionalism". To date Polyot
is the only Russian airline to get the International Gold Star for Quality.
According to Polyot, the award reflects the airline's contribution to the
airborne launching of satellites. It also follows a similar award won by the
company from the Institute of Transport Management last year. According to Izabella
Pashinyan, the spokesman for Polyot, BID chose Polyot based on independent research
of companies from 159 countries, which met BID's award criteria and the BID
research team then evaluated them. BID has a warded other Russian companies
in the aerospace sector including Rybinsk and Krushinev
